Kyla is getting better and better at standing up with little help (well, staying standing. . .she needs lots of help to get there), but she still has yet to master sitting up without help for any length of time. Maybe she just likes being held. :) We still haven't really found foods she likes. Carrots were not a big hit, so we tried bananas. After an initial, "I like them" reaction, she now seems to have changed her mind. Hmmm. . .already finicky at such a young age. This does not bode well for us. . .

Standing up for what I believe in. . .

Kyla's 6-month Appointment
"These sweet potato things are good!"
We did it! We kept Kyla alive for a full 6 months! Here are her 6 month stats:
Height: 24.25 inches 8% (If you are thinking, wasn't she 24.5 inches at 4 months, you'd be right. I'd like to think they mis-measured her last time v. thinking she shrunk!)
Weight: 14 lbs 8 oz. 25%
Head: 43 cm 70% (What can I say, she must be all brain!)
Shots seemed to go well, but she is staying home with me today!

Welcome to 2008. . .
"Just kidding. It is my tribute to my now LTC Aunt Michele."
"Sorry, I just ate myself to sleep!"
So far Kyla is just trying out rice (which she is not a fan of) and oatmeal (that she really seems to like). Over the past week, I've been making some homemade sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots that we hope to start her on this week. . .she has been eyeing our food pretty hard and got upset when we didn't share the ice cream, so I think she is ready to venture out to the world of orange veggies. Rumor has it that if she eats too many, she'll turn orange. . .no worries, we'll post pictures if she does. :) There goes our parents of the year award for 2008. . .and so early in the year, too!
