Playing Golf

"Daddy is trying to teach me to play golf. It's kind of like a bunny teaching another bunny to bark. . .you know. . .cute, but neither will ever bark?"

"I look almost angelic playing golf."

"I swing. . .I miss. . .I throw the club. . .just like a real golfer!"

"You can have the clubs dad, but I'm hiding the balls to prevent future embarrassment."

A Day at the Carnival Part II

"Want a ride on my hog?"

"Lions and tigers. . .oh, my!"

"Don't worry, mom. I can take him!"

"What do you mean I need to come down. The view is much better up here."

"See mom, I told you I could drive by myself!"

"I'll get in the car as soon as I finish my cotton candy."

A Day at the Carnival

"When I said I wanted a pony, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind."

"Cruising for boys."

"Wait, are you telling me that elephants can fly?"

"If we could dip this in chocolate, life would be perfect!"

"Hey, do you need a ride, mom?"

Getting Ready for Bed

"Just one more minute, please."

"I need a big drink of water to get me though the night."

"All showered. Time to blow dry!" (Yes, Kyla refuses to take baths and only takes showers.)

"So, I'm thinking of going with the windswept look. What do you think?"

Mommy's Trip to Savannah.

"My mommy and aunt Angela. . .armed and dangerous!"

"With Chef Darren who taught Aunt Angela how to slice a left-handed tomato."

"The results of our labor."

Mom had to take a business trip to Savannah, Georgia and met up with her best friend from graduate school. On one of those days they took a cooking class with Chef Darren at the 700 Cooking school; both were just featured on a Food Network "Chefs v. City." On the plate in the last picture is a bean salad, cheese grits with shrimp in red eye gravy, fried green tomatoes, cheddar rosemary biscuits, and as odd as it sounds, amazingly good pineapple mint tea. They also made a praline angel food cake. Dad and I have sampled some of the recipes and heartily approve!

"Sarah and I are smiling big, because we get to eat grandma's cake!"

"Maybe just a touch of wine with the cheese."

"No, I wasn't drinking wine. Why do you ask?"

Disclaimer: The glass has cranberry juice and 7Up.

Saying Good-Bye to Old Cars

"Wow, this car is from 1964? Did you have to dodge the dinosaurs?"

"Mom, I need a little help to reach the gas."

"Woo Hoo! I get to drive!"

"I'll see you guys later!"

"Lean back grandpa! You are in my photo-op!"

Grandpa finally had his 1964 Dodge Dart and 1994 Renault Alliance towed away. . .much partying ensued!

A Typical Monday Morning

"A little snack for school."

"A bit of pretty jewelry from Aunt Michele to impress the boys."

"A little something to give me enough energy to outrun mom and dad."

I have to share the Cheese Ball story. Kyla and I went to Sam's Club, and when she saw the vat of cheese balls, she picked them up and said they were her favorite. I gently explained that we didn't need a 10 gallon tub of cheese balls, but she insisted we "needed" them. I made her a deal. If she could carry the cheese balls all by herself around the store, I would get them for him. To my HUGE surprise, she did. The first thing she does when she gets home is ask for "two cheese balls." I love my crazy little girl!
