And high school track is DONE!!!!!!

 

Districts Day 2: Discus

I thought this was my last day of high school track. I went in ranked 7th, and threw 91'6" in the first round, followed by two fouls. Ember was gloating because she threw a 96'9" in the second round which was a big PR for her. The sad thing is she was only gloating because she was beating me. She is soooo mean!! Luckily, I made it into finals in 8th place, but only the top 4 make it to regionals and we have the toughest region in the state.

I stepped up for the first round of finals, and it finally all came together! Dad and I were both really happy about my throw, and as I went to retrieve my discus, I realized it was over the 100' line. . .by a few feet! I jumped up and down in excitement and then heard the mark of 108 feet 3 inches!!!! This was a 6' PR and a Season Best by 9'! I also realized that this places me 8th of ALL time for Butler High School for the discus throw. I sat nervously as the rest of finals went on. As the last thrower went, I realized I made it to Regionals for the first time!!! My teammate Ember, instead of being happy about her own PR, said nothing and pouted off. Did I mention mean? I think I also I made two girls cry who expected to make it from Springfield (I felt bad for her, because she was a senior and was expected to make it) & from Greenville (she was just mean and only a Freshman). 

It was supposed to be dad's farewell to track coaching, but it looks like he has one more week now!

I shockingly made the district finals with a throw of 29'3.25" and placed 9th in the district. The throwers from our district will be in the state finals.
