Who me?

"No mom, I wasn't in your room. I'm just running for exercise."

"Paci? I don't have a paci."

"Okay, I'll get rid of it, if it means I get daddy!"

Kyla is just growing so fast. She is talking in 4-5 word sentences now, and already knows how to suck up by saying, "I love you, momma." Her favorite toys are really her books, coloring books, and puzzles. Her favorite foods are pork steamed dumplings, rice with hunan sauce, mac n cheese, and any variety of pasta with a pesto or garlic sauce.

We are also trying to break her of the paci habit. I swear she has hid them throughout the house like a squirrel hides nuts, but to her credit, when we tell her to take it out and go put it on her bed, she gives us the pouty lip and goes and puts it on her bed without argument.

The Next Food Network Star

"You work on the cookies, mom. I'll focus on the bread."

"I'm just practicing to be the Next Food Network Star!"

"No, mommy. Let me show you the proper way to make muffins."

Mom made me some homemade play dough, and it was a blast! Mom and dad also think I'm prepping myself for a job in upper management. I really prefer to tell the parents what to do an how to do it than tackle it myself.

Patriot Festival

"It is such a lovely day."

"Okay, I want one of these in my bedroom."

"Since I easily conquered the fish, I decided to take on the mighty purple alligator."

"Mom, I'm a bit freaked out about being eaten by a strawberry."

These photos are from the Memorial Day Patriot Festival at the Dayton VA Center. Kyla loves the rides and appears to be in training for Kings Island.

Stopping to Smell the Flowers.

"Smells like a tulip. A 2009 vintage?"

"Grandma, is this part of the yellow road I've heard about to find mom when she is in Kansas?"

"These white little flowers are just lovely."

"Why stop for just roses? I'm stopping and smelling ALL the flowers!"

"Do you like my garden? Just a little something I threw together. Okay, grandma may have helped a little."

My First Carnival: Part II

"Deep Fried Oreos? Okay, that just sounds gross, grandpa."

"Woo Hoo! I'm flying a big blue fishy!"

"I'm swimming over to you grandpa!"

"Mom, can I ride again?"
My special thanks to daddy for the use of his computer. Mom's kind of caught fire and she is waiting for a new one.

My First Carnival

"So, I just need to toss this bone through the hole? Cool!"

"No, you can't have my first carnival prize. I won him fair and square. Okay, so all I had to do was look cute and the guy gave him to me. "

"Um. . .where are we going, grandpa?"

"That rope doesn't look too sturdy. I'm sure I can make a break for it."

"Hi Mom! This train thing is kind of cool."

Grandpa and mom took me to my first carnival at WPAFB, and I rode my first rides. It was way too fun!

Swing, Climb, Slide!

"Come on, mom. Join me!"

"Look out Mt. Everest!"

"I can tackle this slide."

"Thank you to my loyal fans for your support."

Fun with Dishes

"Hang on, mom, I'm filling up the sink."

"I'll wash dishes anytime! This is too much fun!"

Kyla just loves water of any kind, and this sink is her new favorite outdoor toy. By the time she was done, she was soaked head to toe.

On to the Aquatic Life

"Mom, can we go see the fishies?"

"Mom, why did they name a 2400lb manatee after you?"

"If you won't get me the goat, then I want that penguin."

"Come on, guys. This is like trying to watch a turtle move."

The Columbus Zoo

"There is a moose. I think it may be a chocolate one!"

"That's not a wolf. . .Here, doggie."

"The zoo is AWESOME!!"

"This train is pretty cool."

"Thanks, dad. Much better view."

At the Petting Zoo: Part II

"This one is nice, dad. Can I take him home?"

"This is fun! So many furry new friends."

"Hmm. . .do I want this one or the one I saw earlier?"

"Woo Hoo! Party in the straw!"
