My First Haircut!

"Ahh. . .this feels so good!"

"Okay, I'm ready to do this every day!"

"So, I'm thinking just a little off the back and shorten up the bangs a bit."

"Yes, that looks about right."

"I'm holding really still!"

Yes, I took Kyla to a real spa for her first haircut. The woman who cut her hair, Lisa, has been cutting my hair for 12 years, and I promised her that she would get to do Kyla's first haircut. We both had a great time, and I'm looking forward to many more spa days with Kyla in the future.

Prepping for a Day at the Spa

"Do we really get to go to the spa?"

"Hmm. . .manicure? Pedicure? Or just a haircut?"

"Let me just check my schedule, so we have enough time to do it all."

Hanging out with Aunt Michele

"At the Riverside Festival: The best part was the potato chips!"

"Checking out Aunt Michele's new house and kitty cats. Yes, Boots really is bigger than me!"

"Mom, can I have a kitty cat?"
The best part of this day was when Kyla was playing with Boots (the HUGE black & white cat). Kyla was chasing Boots around and then Boots came flying back to chase Kyla and was a bit quicker than she was. The result? One stunned cat and one cute little blond girl who literally got her feet knocked out from under her.

My dolls!

"Check out all my dolls!!"

"My new best friend!"

My mom made me these dolls and clothes when I was Kyla's age, and I am so glad to see that she loves them as much as I did. Even after 35 years, they are still just as lovable.

The 10th Anniversary Iris

Iris has a walnut base, lignum vitae leaves, and purpleheart flower. Nothing is painted. These are all the natural colors of the woods.

The leaves actually turn more green when left in direct sunlight. So cool!

Ken started carving the bloom of the iris while I was still pregnant with Kyla. When she came 5-weeks early, it got put on a shelf until recently. Ken finished the beautiful flower as a 10th anniversary gift. Never fails to amaze me how unbelievably talented my awesome husband is!
