November with Daddy

"Aww, daddy, I feel like a princess. . ."

". . .your turn!"

"Who needs a car? I have a daddy!"

"Mom, I think my daddy broke down."

"Well, if daddy won't let me sit on his lap, I'll just sit here!"

Okay, I have to share the funny story for the week. Kyla said she was hungry, and the following conversation ensued:

Mom: Do you want asparagus?

Kyla: Noooo. . .

Mom: Broccoli?

Kyla: Noooo. . .

Mom: Liver?

Kyla: Noooo. . .

Mom: Purple Dinosaurs?

Kyla: Sure, I want Purple Dinosaurs.

Mom: Okay, tell daddy to get some from the refrigerator.

Daddy: We appear to be fresh out of Purple Dinosaurs.

Kyla: Mommy, we are out of Purple Dinosaurs. We need to go shopping!

Starting Preschool

"I'm on my path to world domination!"

Ken and I had our first parent/teacher conference and passed with flying colors. They decided to move Kyla up into the preschool a little early, because she was already counting to 15 and singing the alphabet. I didn't want to tell them that it wasn't necessarily brilliance; just that the alphabet song is the only song mom knew all the words to, so I've been singing it to her since she got home from the hospital. She is now getting to do projects with glue, paint, and glitter every day, so she is pretty excited.

Woodcarver's Guild Meeting

"Hi, I'm Kyla, and I like playing with blocks, too!"

"Dad, can my cowgirl carve, too?"

"You are the funniest daddy ever!"

"Just showing off my latest modeling pose after we got home."

Ken is a member of the Dayton Woodcarver's Guild, and Kyla and I joined him for their annual potluck dinner prior to the Artistry in Wood Show. Everyone just loved Kyla, and she loved all the attention.

"So, I just go ring doorbells and people will give me candy? Seriously?"

"On our way. . ."

"I can really pick anything Ms. Christie?"

"Those candy bars are huge! That should give me enough energy to last until at least midnight!"
