Entertaining mom

"Mom, why do you have lamby on your crutches?"
"Check out my styling socks!"
"Um. . .I said I have to go potty!"

Kyla is starting to get the hang of potty training, and mom and dad are thrilled. She has also picked up some super cute hobbies this week. We went to Jungle Jim's, a massive international market, and when we went up to the lobster tank she said, "Yummy! Lobsters!" No clue where she got that from. . .maybe too much food network? Also, while we were there, we ran into the Easter Bunny, and Kyla said, "How are you, bunny?" She thought he was cool until he took a step toward her, and then she buried herself in mom's legs.

An Evening with Dad

"Oh. . . dad, a blue car. . .can I have one? And not one of those Hot Wheels!"
"No, dad. That is a motorcycle. Can you say motorcycle?"
"Okay, dad, that is just pathetic."
"I got your cell phone. . .ha, ha, ha. . .now, you'll have to get up!"

So, having a wife on crutches after knee surgery, trying to finish his Master's degree, working long hours, and dealing with a precocious 20-month-old has officially done Ken in. My knee is now healing, so hopefully that man can get a reprieve soon!
As a side note: Kyla can indeed very clearly say motorcycle. . .I think she is begging grandpa for a ride on his.

Reaching New Heights

"Um. . .I wasn't doing anything. . .just testing out my stool."

I went out and bought a little step stool for Kyla to wash her hands. Unfortunately, that little girl is too smart and has learned to carry it to reach whatever she wants.

Bye Bye Crib. . .Hello Freedom!

"Hmm. . .let me go check this out. . ."

"This is awesome guys! Thanks so much!"

"Actually, if you don't mind, I think I prefer this bed."

Yes, we finally took the big step and converted Kyla's crib into a toddler bed. Talk about one happy little girl who can now sneak out in the middle of the night to go try and curl up with mom and dad.

Our New Maid Service

"A little to the left, daddy."

"Mom, cleaning is the most fun thing EVER!"

"Hang on Dad, I think we missed a spot."

Our Little Cleaning Machine

"I'm going for the dunk. . .wait for it. . ."

"Where do these go again?"

"Daddy, I made you a mutant Mr Potatohead. Do you like him?"

Betty Crocker Meet the Butt Cake

"So this is what a butt cake looks like. Cool!"

"Can I touch it?"

"I want this piece, mom."

I made a traditional lemon bundt cake, and asked Kyla if she wanted a piece. She promptly and very clearly said that she would like a piece of "Butt Cake."

From Tears to Laughter

"I don't want to go. . ."

"I never want to leave. . ."

Kyla is doing great and chatting up a storm. If you say a word, she will repeat it and then can use it. The funny of the week was her seeing broccoli on our plates. She said "broccoli," and we gave her a piece that she immediately went and fed to Sydney and said "thank you" as Sydney polished it. She then walked right back to us with a big cheesy grin. I think we darn near fell off our chairs laughing.
