Time flies when you look this cute!

"Come on mom, even prisoners are allowed one phone call!"
"What do you think? America's Next Top Ham. . .um model?"

As amazing as it is, Kyla will be 9 months old on Wednesday! Where has the time gone? She is so animated now and seems to be chatting away constantly. . .of all the toys around, she just keeps going after either the home or cell phone. . .this isn't boding well for the future, is it?

Kyla's First Easter

"Forget the baby food. I'm holding the pizza hostage!"
" So, then dad said I was just like mom chattering away. I'm guessing since he has hung around for 10 years, it must be a good thing, so then I told dad. . ."
"Mom, how did the Easter Bunny know exactly what I wanted?"

Kyla thoroughly enjoyed her first Easter. She was just entralled with all the bunny ears that were the perfect fit for munching on!

A little father daughter time. . .

"Hi mom! Me get into trouble? Never!"
"What are we looking at dad?"
"Your eyes are so pretty, can I see one?"
"You tickle me, and you'll get a boot to the face, mister!"

Kyla is growing up so fast! She keeps her balance when sitting and standing(most of the time) now, and is even big enough to take on dad. Plus, it looks like she will start crawling very soon!

How to Entertain Ourselves with Over a Foot of Snow. . .

"Just hanging out on dad and looking cute to pass the time."
"Of course I brushed my hair, mom, why do you ask? "

"I am ready to slay the mighty dragon! Umm. . .dad? The dragon (aka dog) keeps running away from me."

"Ahh. . .the best way to spend a snow day!"

Crazy week. It was 60 degrees early in the week, followed by the worst blizzard and snowfall in years. Through all of it, Kyla keep us giggling as usual. She can now sit up for good periods of time without falling over, and even pulled herself up from sitting to standing this week. Darn scary! She also has down "ba. . .ba. . .ba" and "ma. . .ma. . .ma." I keep pushing for "da. . .da. . .daddy, take ma. . .ma. . .ma somewhere warm for the weekend." . . hmmm. . .maybe next week. We are still trying to get her excited about food, but other than oatmeal, apples, and pears, she puts on a drama queen show of how horrible any other food is.

Election Day Special!

"I get to vote today? Really? Am I a democrat or a republican?"
"Excuse my smug expression, but all the other kids at school are jealous that I got to vote. I hope my candidate wins! She's the best!"

It is a hotly contested election day in Ohio, and we took Kyla to vote for the first time. She had a blast watching everyone cast their ballots and ooh and ahh over her patriotic outfit!

8 months old!

"Did someone say bath time?"
"That bath was great. Just waiting for the masseuse to show up now!"
"Well, isn't this cool? I can sit totally on my own. (Ignore dad's hand, he just wanted it in the picture.)"
"Okay, so balance is still a bit of an issue. Ummm. . .guys? I could use a little help here. Taking pictures is NOT being helpful!"

I can't believe Kyla is 8 months old! She has a full head of fluffy blond hair like dad and is really starting to like playing in the bathtub. . .hence the post bath robe and bunny slippers. She is also starting to sit a bit on her own, but as you can tell, she is still working on the balance issue.
