2023 District Championships

We were tiny compared to most of the girls

I was really trying for 30' so I could name coach Butch's pig Stevie, but I made it 29'6" and placed 12th in the district out of the 29 best throwers. I was pretty happy.

Our main jumper was injured, so the coach threw me in long jump at the last minute. I got a season best of 13'10.5" and placed 15th out of 23 jumpers. Not bad for a thrower!

This is the jump that will haunt me. It was an over 16' jump, but I went literally 1/4" over the board, and it was a foul. Super bummed, but glad mom got the picture to prove it. 

Not my best day at discus, but not the worst either. I threw 89'7" and placed 12th of 28 throwers. Only the top 2 athletes for each school in each event can go, so even getting to go in 3 events is an amazing honor.

Miami Valley League Conference Championships

I was surprisingly asked to go to the conference championships in long jump. Only 2 are allowed from each team, and 3 of us had very similar marks for the year, but the coach said he chose me due to my consistency and that I do well under pressure. I ended up getting a season best of 13'11" which placed me 11th out of the 18 best long jumpers in the league. 

On to shot put where I got a great throw of 29'7" and placed 8th out of 18 throwers and earned a point for our team. Our team finished 3rd out of the 9 teams in the league. 

Last was discus, and I had a great day. I had a season best and was 2" off my all-time best with a throw of 93'7" which placed me 7th of 18, and earned my team another 2 points. 

Watch Out World! I Got My Permit!

Mom has to get a couple of ankle surgeries this summer, so I decided it was time to get my permit. Passed my written test on the first round. 

After I got my permit, mom stopped at the entrance to the neighborhood and let me drive her home. I was soooooo nervous!!

Dad is taking me for most of the driving lessons, but mom will let me take her on short trips.
